When Swami Vivekananda met Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa for the first time, he felt that Sri Ramakrishna is a mad person and he did not trust him at all. As we all know that later with the blessings of the same said mad person, Swami Vivekananda could delegate from India and has preached our culture and heritage to the whole world. Had he went by the appearance of Sri Ramakrishna, we would have not got Vivekananda in this world, instead left with Naren (Swami Vivekananda’s real name) !!!.
If great people can do mistakes by going through appearances, then there is no question about the normal people like us. In our lives we may have encountered many people and might not remember them all. But, some people who stay far from us still are remembered always. It is not that they are something special or extraordinary people. But they are the ones who might have been found as strangers at first sight, but in the process of interactions we like and become fond of them. In other words, we start loving them and in the expression of love we might even forgive the mistakes they do and there may be a possibility that we get a great compassion in our life.
Most of the times, we always try to think and judge others with our own mind and our own thoughts. But, we have to understand that in the process, we are going to lose a great friend or a lover as our thoughts about them might go wrong. And most of the times we miss them with our own ideologies. I do not believe whether we can have God always with us since I cannot see him, but definitely believe that one true friend who loves all our good characteristics and bad characteristics and will definitely be with us through out our life. So, do not miss the opportunity to get a good companion for your life by going through the first impressions. Study and understand the other person and then decide later whether he is good or bad.
Finally, we may earn a lot and live a luxurious life, but “with out a good friend“ who can drive us through out our life in all the evens and odds, life may become dull and void. Let us not miss the good people in our lives by making wrong judgments and going by the first impressions. Let us make our life colorful and beautiful by getting “right friends, right companions and right guide” .
